Antique Georgian Diamonds, Ruby & 14k Gold Dome Ring
Details: Absolutely stunning Georgian curved oval cluster ring with natural ruby center surrounded by European and rosecut diamonds. The diamonds are set in 14k gold and feature a re-shanked simple rose gold band. The back of the ring is enclosed and the stones are foil backed to reflect the light. The concentric circles of diamonds surrounding the ruby are beautifully balanced and the European cut diamonds that halo the ruby are larger and whiter in color than the smaller rose cuts diamonds.
Georgian era jewelry featured stones that were hand-cut and more primitively set. No two stones are the same in cut, color or clarity and this ring has a rustic beauty and uneven brilliance that we adore. The Georgian pieces are very rare and covetable and this ring is a true treasure.
Measurements: The ring is size 6.5, the ruby is about 1/2ct, there are two European diamonds that are just over 1/4ct, two European cut diamonds that are just under a 1/4ct and four diamonds that are about 1.8ct each Surrounding those diamonds are seventeen rose cut diamonds of various shapes and sizes all between 1/8 ct and a 1/16th ct. The diamonds in this ring predate modern rating methods. The ring is about 5/8" tall and about 4/8" wide and sits 1/8" high at the peak of the ruby.
