Louison Fine 14k Rhodolite Garnet and Sapphire Entwined Snakes Ring
Details: A beautifully crafted, 14k gold and gemstone ring. The ring is actually two separate snakes that slide together forming an entwined double headed ouroboro (a snake biting it's own tail) ring. We love that each snake can also be worn on it's own, allowing for the pair to be shared between loved ones. Both snakes feature diamond eyes and intricate hand engraved details. In this version one head is set with a dark pink rhodolite garnet and the other a dark blue sapphire. Unusual and stunning - this is a perfectly executed modern twist on the antique Victorian snake ring.
History: Through out history from Ancient Egypt to present day, cultures have revered the snake as a powerful cultural icon, symbolizing wisdom, fertility, medicine, protection and rebirth. The ouroboro version became a classic symbol of eternity, especially favored by the Victorians, due to Queen Victoria's trend setting emerald snake wedding ring. It remains one of our personal favorite motifs here at Metier.
Measurements: Face of the rings (together) measure 9 x 14mm. Diamond eyes are1.25mm. Ring is a size 6 and can be sized.
