Antique Victorian 18k Mourning Ring with Shield & Diamond Details: This ring is an excellent example of a Victorian memorial ring with scrolls comprising the band. The ring features a single European cut diamond set centrally on the shield. The initials DE and JU sit on the left and right shoulders, respectively. On the inside of the band reads the inscription, "Mary Sanderson 16 April 1839." The black enamel has some wear but we like that it’s in it’s original condition. We love mourning jewelry of this era for their emphasis on eternal love and remembrance. Hallmarks include crown for England, lion's head for London, 18 for 18k gold. Measurements: The ring size is 6.75 and can not be sized. Origin: English, c. 1839.
