Antique Art Deco French Platinum Onyx Moonstone Diamond Ring
Details: Stunning Art Deco onyx, moonstone and diamond ring. The onyx face features two reinforced bezel-set cabochon moonstones, six small European-cut diamonds at each shoulder and fine platinum milgrain details. The platinum band has engraving at sides and French hallmarks on the outside of the band. The unusual nature and design of this ring lend us to believe this beautifully crafted piece was a custom piece.
History: The Art Deco era was the dawning of a more free time for women and fashion and jewelry reflected that. After WWI ended women were accustom to looser clothes, short hemlines, sportier looks. Displays of wealth were more acceptable. Diamonds became very popular and contrasting materials such as onyx set the diamonds off beautifully.
Measurements: The ring size is 6.5 and can be sized. The face measures 7/8" tall and 5/8" wide.
Origin: French, c. 1920-1930's.
