Antique Victorian 14k Sapphire and Diamond Two Snake Ring
Details: This is a beautifully designed Victorian double diamond snake and sapphire ring. Crafted in slightly rosy 14k gold, it features a moody, dark blue sapphire cabochon. Flanking the stone on either side are diamond headed snakes that coil in opposite directions, their tails wrapping around the ring’s shank.
Snake rings were popularized in the 19th century by the trendsetting Queen Victoria, who wore an emerald headed snake ring as her engagement ring. Snakes have traditionally symbolize eternity and transformation.
Measurements: The ring is 5.5 and can be resized. The sapphire is approximately 8mm in diameter and sits approximately 4mm tall off the finger.
Origin: Purchased in Europe, c. 1890’s.
Notes: If you'd like to have this ring sized, please indicate the size in the "Special Instructions" box at checkout and allow minimum 3 weeks for sizing and delivery. A small fee will be assessed and once the ring is sized it’s considered a final sale.
