Antique Georgian Black & White Enamel Urn Pendant
Details: This is a beautifully made piece. Originally a pin, elegantly converted into a pendant - the gold and enamel work is skillfully executed. The central image is of an urn. The urn rests upon a plinth which contains beautifully braided hair under glass. The background of the image is consumed by a weeping willow tree - a long-standing symbol of grief emulating the form of a human in mourning.The image is framed in white and black enamel work and small dots of gold.
Measurements: 1" wide, 1 1/4" tall.
Origin: A custom piece - likely English, c. early 1800's.
