Antique Georgian 18k Carnelian & Seed Pearl Sepia Portrait Pendant
Details: This is a lovely pendant - a custom-made memento - featuring a sepia portrait of a woman reaching out to the branches of a tree. The hand-painted image is set in a triple frame of seed pearls, carnelian and 18k gold. The carnelian frame - carved from one stone - is a stunning, warm, peachy-orange tone and has beautiful soft, round curves, which transitions into a flat plane that drops down to frame the image.
There is lovely braided hair enclosed at back under a crystal lens.
Measurements: 1 1/4" wide, 1 3/8" tall.
Origin: Likely English, c. late 1700's.
Note: The last photo represents the true color. The first photos have light shining through the pendant to show the depth and slight transparency of the stone.
