Old mine cuts were cut by hand before the invention of modern diamond cutting techniques and the motorized saw. Hand-cutting results in diamonds that have a more natural shape and look. Old mine cuts are some of the most prized of the antique diamond cuts and these stones most likely predate the setting.
Antique Art Deco 18k Old Mine Cut Diamond Ring
Details: Stunning old mine cut diamond band ring featuring large and very white stones. There are two oval diamonds in the center flanked on either side by tapered cushion cut diamonds. Flower-like stars are engraved on the shoulders. The setting is framed with a delicate bead-work edge and the top and the bottom of the ring shows an engraved feather pattern. The band tapers gracefully toward the back making it very comfortable to wear. This ring would make a great stacking rack and would be lovely as a wedding or engagement ring.

Origin: American, c. 1920's. Hallmarked 750 (18k) and has a maker's mark of Yard for Raymond C. Yard.
