Antique Victorian 14k Oval Enamel Pansy Locket Pendant
Details: This is a sweet oval locket featuring lovely enamel work of a pansy in black and white framed in an oval of soft blue. Additional scrollwork, floral and leaf engraving (further strengthened with black enamel) further embellishes the piece.
The word pansy has its roots in the French word penser - which translates to, to think of. In the Victorian era, these pieces were given with the intention of conveying the sentiment that the gift giver was thinking fondly of the one receiving the gift.
Measurements: 3/4" wide, 1" tall.
Origin: Czech, c. 1850's-1870's.
