Details: One must embark on a true treasure hunt to find a chain of this caliber. Heavy in weight, it is fabricated of buttery 15k gold and comprised of elongated oval trombone inks alternating with curb link sections. It comes complete with two dog clips, circular hanging spring ring, and a T-bar. This is the longest watch chain we have ever come across and it probably originally belonged to a larger person.

Often called an "Albert Chain" after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband.  Albert wore one regularly with his pocket watch. The T-bar fit through the buttonhole of the vest keeping the chain front and center.  The clips on either end connected to the pocket watch on one side and useful fobs for balance on the other. The extra chain next to the t-bar allowed for a few more baubles to hang.  The whole set up was both functional and decorative.

Today these "Albert Chains" are beloved as necklaces with the t-bar in the front and are worn both with or without attached pendants.

Measurements: The chain's length is 25" and the total weight is 63.1g. There are several hallmarks including the makers mark on the T-bar.

Origin: English. C. 1880's.
