Details: This is a wonderful Mizpah ring on a buttery gold band with raised lettering and a star set diamond set between the two syllables. Mizpah jewelry, which from the mid-to late-1800s was given to a loved one during a period of long separation—military service, travel, or otherwise—as a "forget-me-not." The word Mizpah is taken from the Old Testament " The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent from one another" and means "watchtower" in Hebrew. Mitzpah can be found emblazoned on an abundance of silver jewelry from that time period but the gold pieces are much harder to find.

Measurements: The ring size is 6.5. The band measures 7mm at the front and tapers to 3mm at the back.

Origin: London, c. 1892.

Notes: If you'd like to have this ring sized, please indicate the size in the "Special Instructions" box at checkout and allow minimum 3 weeks for sizing and delivery. Depending on the work, extra timing or fees may be assessed and we will contact you. Once sized the ring is a final sale but repairs or adjustments can be made.
